Xbox Elite 2 controller won't connect to PC after changing bluetooth receiver, can't remove...

Hi! I have been using my controller (second gen xbox elite controller) with difficulties because of how it can sometimes have difficulties connecting over bluetooth to win10, but it worked well enough, except my bluetooth receiver (a usb dongle) had a poor
antenna and it was annoying, so I upgraded to a PCIe card with BT capabilities today, and since can't connect my controller to my PC.

Before it's brought up, I know for sure the new PCIe BT card (and its drivers lol) work well, since I can connect to other devices over bluetooth without any issues.

At first, I thought it was because of a similar issue to how when you plug the controller with USB cable you have to unpair and pair again, so I tried unpairing and pairing again, turns out, that doesn't work! Simply because windows won't let me remove the
    device.

I'll head to "Bluetooth & other devices", hit "Remove device" on it, "yes", it'll stay on "removing device" for about 20 seconds until it says "remove failed" and then displays "paired" again. However it isn't paired, since when I turn on the controller
(even if I try with the old receiver plugged in) it won't establish a connection.

I've tried reinstalling BT drivers, rebooting, uninstalling the device from the device manager, etc. At this point I don't get how something so simple can't just work properly...

    Any help/ideas welcome, thanks.

    :)

Xbox elite series 2 wont connect to xbox accessories app on my pc

    Hello Yeddy Yordan,

Thank you for sharing this with us and welcome to Xbox Forums.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that you're having trouble connecting your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller to the Xbox Accessories app on your PC. There could be several reasons why your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is not connecting to the Xbox Accessories app on your PC or through Bluetooth. Nothing to worry, we'll work on this together.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions to help us understand the concern further:

    1. Have you tried connecting the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller to a different PC or Xbox console to see if it connects?
    2. Have you checked if the USB-C cord you are using is working properly by trying a different cord?
    3. Have you tried updating the firmware on the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller through the Xbox Accessories app on your PC?
    4. Have you checked if your PC's Bluetooth is turned on and discoverable?
    5. Have you tried removing any other Bluetooth devices from your PC's Bluetooth settings to see if that helps the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connect?

In the meantime, please ensure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements for the Xbox Accessories app. You can check the system requirements on the Microsoft Store page for the app.

Next, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    • Make sure that your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is fully charged. You can charge it using the USB-C cable that came with the controller.

    • Try connecting the controller to your PC using a different USB-C cable. Make sure that the cable is fully inserted into both the controller and the PC.

    • If the controller still won't connect via USB, try resetting the controller. To do this, press and hold the Pair button on the back of the controller for 3 seconds, then release it. The Xbox button on the controller should start flashing rapidly, indicating that it's in pairing mode.

    • If the controller still won't connect via USB, try connecting it to a different USB port on your PC.

    • If the controller won't connect via USB, try connecting it to your PC via Bluetooth. To do this, press and hold the Pair button on the back of the controller for 3 seconds, then release it. The Xbox button on the controller should start flashing slowly, indicating that it's in pairing mode. On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices, then click "Add Bluetooth or other device". Select "Bluetooth" and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the controller.

    • If the controller still won't connect via Bluetooth, try resetting the controller and your PC. To reset the controller, press and hold the Pair button on the back of the controller for 20 seconds, then release it. To reset your PC, go to Start > Power > Restart.

If none of these steps work, please try updating the firmware on your controller. You can do this using the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox console. Connect your controller to your console using a USB cable, then open the Xbox Accessories app. Select your controller, then select "Device info". If a firmware update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to update your controller.

I hope this helps you with the issue for your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

Xbox Elite wireless controller series 2 bluetooth problem!

    Hi,

I try to connect my Xbox Elite wireless controller series 2 via bluetooth on my Ipad Pro 11 inch 2018, but it can't make connection or won't be recognized. The series 2 controller supports bluetooth. I can make connection with the other older version Xbox
    One S wireless controller immediately.

I'd make a phone call with Apple support and they said that maybe the problem could be that the Xbox Elite controller series 2 won't be supported and isn't compatible with Ipad.

I want to know guys if you had the same problem and I want to ask if there will be an update in the future to solve this problem?
At the moment the series 2 elite controller is not compatible with Iphones/Ipads. At the moment the only device that the series 2 controller is available on IOS side is the Mac and even that it's janky. Series 2 controller works fine on Android at the moment.
Sorry if this doesn't help you, I myself is waiting for the Bluetooth proprietary to be added to the IOS list

    Elite Controller 2 Bluetooth issues

My elite series 2 works just fine the first time I pair it to the PC. However after that it experiences the problems described with the frame rate drop etc or won't connect to the pc at all. If I remove the device and re pair it it works again over bluetooth
until the problem crops up again..

Connect xbox elite controller to PC

The elite controller doesn't have bluetooth so unless you have a MS wireless receiver connected to your PC, no way you are getting a wireless connection between your PC and controller.

You can use a wired connection or use one of the newer controllers who do have bluetooth.

Question about Xbox Elite 2 and wireless adapters on PC

The Xbox wireless adapter uses the proprietary wireless radio technology built in to the Xbox controllers rather than bluetooth, which is in theory a higher performance wireless standard. If you already have a bluetooth receiver in your PC, then you don't
need to purchase the adapter and can just sync the controller using bluetooth. Alternatively, you can connect the controller using the included USB C to USB A cable that comes with the Elite Series 2. Whether you use the bluetooth radio, or Xbox wireless adapter,
you can absolutely sync multiple controllers to your pc via a single receiver.
