    XBOX EA Sync/Link Issues


    Hello!

    I will try and be as clear as possible.

    I have one outlook email address with an xbox account. This same outlook email address has a brand new EA account that I would like to link so that I can download EA games on the xbox gamepass. All non-EA games currently download without any issues.

    Currently, when I go to install any EA game on the gamepass, i receive an error message saying;

    'something went wrong ... to continue linking your EA account head back and start over'

    I don't think I have done this, or maybe years ago, so what I have been trying to do is cancel the pending link of any account and restarting the process.

    If I go into my settings to look at the third party apps that I can link, Steam is connected (and working fine) with a clear 'unlink' option. EA however has a 'manage' button that when clicked on diverts you to this page; https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/link-your-console-accounts/

    Following option 1 from the above page (logging into EA using xbox credentials) I receive the following error message;

    There's been an error connect_error_social_login_failure

    I am then given the option to change my password, which I have done a few times. No help. Same problem every time I attempt this.

    If i then log into my EA account using my outlook email address and password I then log in without issue. So now I try and cancel the linking of any account from here - the only app under the 'connected accounts' section is for my discord.

    I have tried making a brand new EA account that 100% would not have anything linked and I get the same issues - so the problem definitely is with my xbox account, rather than the EA side.

    I think the issue might be that I started the process with a different EA account that I no longer have access to and as I am halfway through the process, the app is having difficulty.

    Is anyone able to offer any assistance?

    It seems like that the issue is caused due to another/Older EA account link to Xbox account. Have you tried signing into the EA Play app with any other email addresses that you may have used to create an EA account in the past and if they've tried unlinking Xbox account from them.

    I'm not positive, but this sounds like an EA issue, not an Xbox issue. It sounds like EA is still registering the account as linked even though it isn't.

    Sorry to hear that but only ea can help with account issues, can you try maybe making a new ea account and syncing it to your gt til you get a reply?.

    then you may have your xbox account linked to an older ea account, that is the only thing i can think off right now. as you have no issues signing into windows or xbox app on pc but you have issues signing into the EA app, that then is defo and ea issue as microsoft have nothing to do with ea logins.
