Xbox DVR file corruption

Discus and support Xbox DVR file corruption in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have recorded with my external hard drive for a victory royale in fortnite using the start recording now for 1 hour and the file I guess got messed...     Xbox DVR file corruption


    I have recorded with my external hard drive for a victory royale in fortnite using the start recording now for 1 hour and the file I guess got messed up and I cant view it normally I was able to put it to mp4repair.org and it was able to show part of my
    videos without payment so there is hope, can anyone possible help me in a way that will be free?

    Need serious help!

    Did you see if they were corrupted? I don't know to much about it, but have tried using a flash drive on my xbox and pc and my files always disappeared or were corrupted by using the xbox.

    Apps not loading

    contacted customer service..had 1 corrupted file....deleted it...cleared cache...deleted profile only....restarted console...downloaded profile again....then everything worked

    to find the corrupted file...go to settings hard drive and look for each possible file...the corrupted file has a warning sign.
    clearing cache - hard drive...press Y - did that 3 times

    I forgot to include that the file type is mp4 and that the working saves are also that file type so I'm assuming that its a corrupt file.

    3 WEEKS Game Captures Corrupted!!!!!

    I've been having DVR issues for 8 months on and off, corrupted files being a big issue. I thought it was locally at first and sent the Xbox in for repair but after speaking to someone from Microsoft they told me the DVR functions are being reduced due
    to the pandemic. I dont believe for a second that causes corrupted files but that's the answer I got. The reduced time on clips is really annoying. I bought a capture card in the end and it's made things much easier

    Hi Jay,

    I think what happened is that the game clip became corrupted when the game was closed and recording had not been stopped.

    Game clips and screenshots are saved in the File Explorer\Videos\Captures folder. Take a look in there to see if the game clip was saved but if it is not there then the clip was corrupted and likely didn't record.
