Xbox DVD audio sync issue

My Xbox One is still having audio sync issues when playing DVDs. The problem seems to occur particularly when the DVD shifts from one layer to the second, meaning the second half of the movie is out of sync. Stopping and restarting the disc seems to usually
fix the issue, but this seems a crazy fix for a console the sells itself as an all in one media centre. Anyone else having these issues still? I don't have a second player, so the Xbox one is my only way to watch DVDs and it's driving me nuts.

UPDATE: Xbox One S returned. No solution for audio sync issue on DVD/Blu-ray playback.

After scouring the internet I cannot find a solution. The Xbox Support seems to be correct. There was an issue with the Xbox One S where the audio was not in sync with the video on DVD and Blu-ray playback. I returned the Xbox One S.

Hopefully few other experience the issue.

Xbox One S - DVD & Blu-ray audio out of sync - DVD audio/video sync worse

I just bought the Xbox One S Battlefield version a few days ago. When playing DVDs and Blu-Ray discs, the audio/video is out of sync. The audio/video sync is much worse on DVD discs.

DVD/Blu-ray sync issue is only a fractions of a second, but lip movement does not match speech. Therefore it is most noticeable when people talk fast. I've used the new Star Trek movies for testing because I have DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital copies. Dr. McCoy
talks the fastest, so the sync issue is most noticeable on him.

My issue is limited to the Xbox One S Blu-ray/DVD player. I've tried the same setup with 3 different Blu-ray/DVD players without any issues. When watching TV or videos through streaming apps or cable box the audio/video is perfectly in sync.

I contacted online chat and walked through all their suggestions (including power cycle, reinstall Blu-ray player, clear persistent storage, and reset to factory defaults). Their last suggestion is to exchange my Xbox for a new one.

Does anyone else have other suggestions to correct the DVD audio/video sync issue?

Is anyone else experiencing this audio sync issue? If so, do you have the same Xbox One S Battlefield Edition (Military green with 1 TB hard drive)

Have you tried power cycling your console? I've not heard of the issue before, but I know power cycling your console can fix any number of issues.

With the console on, hold the power button down for 10seconds until the console switches off, leave it for a minute, then fire it back up again. Try to DVD and let us know if that has sorted it out

If not, I'll dig a bit deeper and see what i can find for you

Yeah, that's been tried several times. Unfortunately still not fixed.

Ok, seems to be a common problem, however I've found a thread that has a heap of helpful suggestions:

It might also be worth deleting the Bluray player app and redownloading it. As from what I've read, the syncing issue should have been fixed with an update, so should not be happening any longer

I've deleted and re-downloaded the Blu-ray app and it's still losing sync following the switching from one layer of a DVD to another. So either this is a systemic issue with the Xbox One hardware, OS or Blu-ray app, or it's a particular fault with my Xbox
One hardware. Any idea which?
