Xbox drive whirring noise and unsatisfactory resolution from Xbox

I've had my Xbox One for almost 2 years now. About a year ago I contacted Xbox because of a loud whirring noise the drive makes when a disc is inserted. It is a known problem and at the time, we decided to send it in but never did. We don't use it
a lot and now we find ourselves outside of the warrantee timeframe. We spoke with tech support today and they say we can send the console in and for $135, they will fix it. I'm not satisfied with that resolution. Yes, I agree it is no longer under warrantee,
but I had contacted Xbox about it in the past when it was under warrantee and for this known issue, I would like Xbox to stand behind their product.

whirring noise

recently when im playing disc games this weird whirring noise starts coming from the disc drive, is this a serious issue?

Whirring noise/disc won't read

My Xbox won't read this disc. It's a perfectly new disc that's clean and no scratches, but when I put it in the Xbox, I get a whirring noise for about a second. Not the loud awful grinding noise I've seen loads but a small whirring noise. What's this about?

Hey mate,

Unfortunately there isn't a lot that can be done. Its outside of warranty, and therefor charges apply to any repairs that need to be done, and there really is no way around that

the disc drive in the replacement xbox one console i received from microsoft makes a whirring noise when inserting a disc... only while it is accepting the disc. sounds like it might be the motor that pulls the disc inside the drive. anyone having any issues
with this?

What do you mean by "ventilation noise"? Can you describe it with a little more detail?

The only thing you should hear is the system fan whirring, the hard drive making spinny/clicky noises, and the disc drive spinning the disc.

I vacuumed out the disk drive and cleaned the disk and there is no whirring noise. Maybe it was the disk drive and/or the disks being dirty? Im going to play the game to see if anything happens.

I thought about the hard drive, however I'm using an external hard drive which doesn't make any noise whatsoever. If the games are running off the external drive then would the internal one still be in use during games? It's now making a kind of whirring
noise on halo mcc along with the ticking noise. The whirring isn't present on Fifa 15 or gta v, just the annoying constant loud ticking. Certainly sounds a bit poorly, I'd upload a video of it but can't seem to do that on here. I'll have to send it in for
repair yet again. It's beyond a joke really, third time sending it in in a matter of weeks. Anyone from Microsoft have any thoughts on this shambles?
