Xbox download speeds

Hi guys

Wondering if anyone can provide assistance with improving the download speeds on the xbox.

I have isolated the problem as being from the xbox by connecting my pc to the very same ethernet port and performing a file download. The pc gives me download speeds of around 100mbps, while the xbox is giving me around 5mbps, which is making the download
of updates unbearably slow.

I have tried resetting the console; resetting the router (multiple times) ; closing any open apps on the xbox.. Im not exactly the most tech savvy guy, so please explain any solutions in the most basic terms possible.

New Xbox One Owner, question about download speed

I never had a problem with download speed. I use a wired connection of 10 mbps and download speeds are pretty much what I'd expect, but lots of people are complaining about it recently. That's not an issue exclusive to Xbox either... Slow download speed on PS4?

 

Need help with internet speeds

my current speed says 768k, 1.5mbps , 3mbps, downloads speeds up to 3mbps. I know thats really slow but what do i really need for xbox live what upload speed download speed do i need? is up to 10mbps download speed up to 1mbps upload speed enough? thanks
for any answers

Hi, Shnol360. I was having a problem with my xbox only getting 60 Mbps download and 4Mbps upload speeds when my computer gets 350 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up.

If Mister Cizl's idea didn't help try checking your router's settings to see if your router is throttling your internet before it hits your xbox.

First you need to login to your router on your computer.

This can generally be done either through the program that come with your router when you buy it or by typing
www.routerlogin.net/ into the address bar of your internet browser.

Next you need to find the Dynamic QoS (Quality of Service) tab in your router settings.



This is how mine looks. You need to make sure that your bandwidth matches or is a little above what your internet provider says that they give you. Otherwise your router will kill your internet speeds.

The section where it has the option to "I want to define my Internet bandwidth" needs to be checked and set the download and upload speeds to what your internet provider gives you.

Before I changed mine it was set at 60.00 Mbps down and 4 Mbps up. Hence my xbox only giving me 60 Mbps download speeds. After changing it to 350.00 Mbps down and 30 up, My xbox gives

me the full 350 Mbps down and about 22 Mbps up.
