Xbox download speed is inaccurate

Hi,

I currently use an xbox one x. The current issue i am facing is a very inaccurate download speed. The package i currently have is 100 mbps upload & download speeds. However, whenever i launch a speed test on the console, my download speed can never reach
higher than 5 mbps, but my upload speed is well over 70 mbps. I have tried everything but nothing seems to work.

I use a huawei router.

I even tried testing the speeds on a ps4, and on the ps4 the download speeds was around 120mbps and upload speeds was about 10 mbps.

Any idea on what the issue could be ?

PS i also live in africa if that helps the context.

Have you tried wifi boosters and have you optimized your xbox internet setting manually based on your location?

Try these dns settings there are others , i suggest you try the ones that suit you. If you need help picking some do a you tube search there are quite a few helpful hints if you dont have an idea but here are a few for you

I have an Xbox one x, and I have noticed that a lot of times my visible download speed depends on the size of the file in which I have to download. For instance, if I download a file or game under 1GB the speed will not reach over 50mbps. When I download
a large file, like a game over 15gb, then I have seen speeds of up to 520mbps. The service I pay for is 400mbps.

Is your Xbox console connected wireless or via Ethernet cable? Can you use an ethernet cable just for testing purposes?

How exactly do you measure the download speed? Do you use the Xbox internal Edge Browser to go to Speedtest.net (or similar speedtest site)?

Or are you using the network test in the network settings?

Be aware that the edge browser is much more limited than the desktop version of the browsers, and doesn't work well with downloading the test files to measure the speed. So while the network speed might be okay, the handling of the download file in the limited
edge browser might be the bottleneck.

Also if you use the network speed test, the console connects to a server in Seattle in the USA. So check on your PC on the speedtest.net website how your internet speed is, if you connect to a server close to the west coast of the USA (i.e. Seattle, Redmond
and the likes in the Washington state (not to be confused with Washington D.C.)).

My xbox is connected via ethernet cable and i use the network settings to test the speed.

Thing is i have had better speed result with a different ISP, the package offered just wasnt enough thats why i changed to have this 100mbps package. The main issue is that, while i check from my pc, internet is great, but when im playing on my xbox, fifa,
it keeps disconnecting. Sort of confused

ookla tests the net to the nearest servers, the microsoft test on the xbox connects to the central server in redmond i think it is, therefore the speed will be inaccurate.
