  1. Xbox Dolby Atmos for Headphones license is not working properly.

I recently updated my Xbox and doing so made me lose access to the Dolby Atmos for Headphones. When I go to the setting to enable it it says “It looks like your free trial for Dolby Atmos for Headphones has ended. You’ll need to buy the app from the Store to keep using it”. When I do that it takes me back to the setting to enable it, which causes a loop that keeps taking me back to the set up screen. I talked to Dolby support and they told me the reason this is likely happening is because the version of Xbox I have is an insider version. I also talked to Xbox support and they verified my license is still going. Any ideas to why this may be happening?

I am unable to enable Dolby Atmos for Headphones on my Xbox one

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

If you have already confirmed that your headset device supports Dolby Atmos and have configured the audio settings on your Xbox, here are a few more steps you can try to enable Dolby Atmos for Headphones on your Xbox One:

Check if you have an active Dolby Atmos license: To enable Dolby Atmos for Headphones, you need an active Dolby Atmos license. To check if you have an active license, go to the Microsoft Store on your Xbox One, search for "Dolby Access," and check if it says "Owned" next to the app. If it doesn't, you may need to purchase the app to get the license.

Install and setup the Dolby Access App: If you have an active Dolby Atmos license, make sure that you have downloaded and installed the Dolby Access app on your Xbox One. Once the app is installed, launch it and follow the instructions to set up Dolby Atmos for Headphones.

Xbox Series X not outputting Dolby Atmos for 4k Blurays

I'm not asking the Xbox to decode the Atmos in any way. I just want it to stream the signal from the disc to my receiver, which will do the decoding, so the Xbox should not even need any kind of a Dolby license, unless their license agreement is really unfair.

Also, the Xbox Dolby Access app only allows purchasing a license for headphone connections. The HDMI connection to my receiver is definitely not a headphone connection.

Oddly enough, there are demos on the Dolby Access app. They output Dolby Vision picture, but the audio comes out as Dolby Digital 5.1 when it is a demo for Dolby Atmos. There is something very wrong with the way Atmos is handled on the Xbox.

Dolby Atmos audio from Xbox One is delayed

As much as I hope that is the case, I don't dare assume they are looking into it.

While Dolby Atmos for Headphones is enabled by a license key managed through the Dolby Access app, the Dolby Atmos encoding is integrated into the system software.

Dolby Atmos on Xbox One X = issue !

    Hi RomiDumitru,

*maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

I don't know if is intentional.

    Xbox Wireless Headset Mic Issues

I also have this issue, it seems silly that they talk about dolby atmos when selling these headphones, and it doesn't even work properly with their headset!
