Xbox doesn't turn on after update

I've had my console for about 3 years and barely used it. This time my xbox updated as usual and then it didn't turn on again. The power brick is white, the power botton is white, it makes a sound like its reading a disc and it just doesn't show anything
on TV, it's as if nothing was connected. I changed the HDMI cable and it's still the same. Could you please help me?

Folks delete the update then connect to live do not turn xbox off it worked for me after three tries if it doesn't work turn off and on and repeat

 

IR Blaster not working

I spoke too soon. When I hold the power button down to shut off the xbox, the next time it's turned on, it turns on the TV. Then the next time after that I turn on the Xbox, it doesn't turn on the TV. It seems the only time after the Spring 2017 update
the Xbox turns on a TV is after it's shut off holding the power button.

Looks like I'm not the only one after looking at the message boards :/

I'm sorry to hear that you are running into this problem. If you have already tried the

No Power Solution support article and have not gotten any results. Then the other option in this case would be to set up a repair order for this console. You would need to go through the

Device Support website to register and set up the order.

The thing is that I have power supply, that's not the problem. I think it's not fair for me to pay for the repair since it worked fine before the update. I can manage to get to the troubleshooting screen but it freezes when I want to factory reset. Is
there another way to do that?

Another way to do so is with an Offline System Update, the OSU allows us to update the Xbox console with the latest, most stable version of the Xbox Operating System. Here's how to do so:

Have You changed the HDMI port?

 

You could also check if it works in another tv

 

If all those options fail then your only option is to set up a repair. You can do that through the Device Support page someone has given above or by contacting Xbox Support and requesting a call back to set up the repair. They will be able to discuss the
options regarding cost as well. I have provided the link for contacting support below for your convenience. It's unfortunate but sometimes repair is the only option.
