    XBox doesn't respond to commands


    The Xbox was off for quite some time. I finally turn it on again today and the Xbox does not respond to console commands. I can scroll thru the dashboard and when i hit a button, it does not respond. It says that I am connected to the internet but I can
    not pull up any apps. I am a new XBox owner and it's acting like a very expensive paperweight.

    Pause, rewind, fast forward, etc commands do not work with live TV

    ^ that should say that it doesn't respond to the "Xbox On" command

    My entire friends list is emigrating to PS4.

    It probably DOESN'T respond to commands when it's off.

    XBox doesn't respond to commands

    This might sound stupid, but it's a common fix for this. Turn the Xbox off, unplug it, count to 30, plug it back in, then give it a go. If that doesn't work, let me know.

    Doesn't sound stupid at all. I did a reset but it went back to my original problem: no internet access. I now remember why I haven't touched this thing in a year. It says I am connected but it won't connect. You know what's stupid? Thinking that I could
    pop a movie in and watch it, without having to try to download an app to watch said movie. But in order to download the app, I have to have a connection. Currently the console is updating. Again.

    Doesn't the new Kinect have voice recognition as well? So if one person signs in by saying "Xbox on", the Kinect will only respond to their voice commands?
