    Xbox doesn't notify me when friends sign on after update


    I received the April update 2 days ago and saw that one of the patch notes was that now after the update it will tell you when friends sign on via popup notification. So far when my friends sign on it doesn't notify me at all. Majority of my friends are
    360 friends and maybe 1 or 2 Xbox One friends and even they don't show up as signing in. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or found a solution. I called customer support and the guy didn't even know there was an update and he wasn't of much
    help so I figured i'd take it to the forums and ask everyone.

    Are we too connected?

    What I've found which my Xbox 1 console doesn't do is when a friend even if they're on my favourites list, signs in onto Xbox 360, there is no notification of that on your Xbox 1 console. Even after going to settings on the Dashboard. But it does notify
    you when a friend signs in onto an Xbox 1 console. It's cool having that feature though. Bring back beacons too. It gets kind of funny (some annoying some say it's unprofessional but hey Xbox is for fun) when you get notifications especially on Xbox 360 like
    a friend comes online a friend has started playing [name of game] (beacon notification) and your doing a Youtube video.

    General friend question

    How come that only one of my friends on my friends list, when they turn their xbox on shows on my screen as ******* is online! whereas when my other friends come online it doesn't notify me on my xbox one. I know they havnt got the preference of appear
    offline active as they tell me this ?

    Preference make sure friends online is set to all.

    360 friends wont show up

    Well thats just stupid, then again why should I expect any better from Microsoft?, no backwards compatibility, no cross-platform chat and now no simple friend notifications. Its like Microsoft just want is to forget about our 360s and bury them in the New
    Mexico desert.
