Xbox doesn't automatically connect to wifi

Almost every other time I turn on my Xbox one it doesn't automatically connect to my wifi. When I go to network settings it doesn't show my wifi. If I choose the "test my connection " option, it says my wireless network isn't set up. I've had my xbox one
for about 2 years now & regularly use it with Xbox live. I set up the wireless when I first got it. To fix the issue I usually just turn off the console & turn it back on. That sometimess fixes it on the first try, other times it takes several restarts. Does
anyone else have this problem & is there a way to fix it so that it always connects to my wifi?

Xbox Live Keeps Disconnecting Every Time I Turn On

Hi Everyone,

For the past week, every time I turn on my xbox, it always says "connect to xbox live". It used to connect automatically. I hit connect and select my wifi name and enter my password but it doesn't work. I have to do a power cycle every time and then connect
to the internet.

Try doing a hard reset on your console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test for results.

Your wireless card may be beginning to fail. Would it be possible for you to run yours as wired?

Put in a wired internet cable than wait for a minute pull it out and the Xbox will connect automatic to the your wifi

If it does not show your wifi if at all possible you could use a Ethernet cable into your xbox for automatic connection.

I understand you need help your Xbox connection problem.

Please try doing these steps:

Let's refresh the console's system cache.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select System.

4. Select Console info

5. Select Reset console.

6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

If this does not help, your console maybe having a hard ware issue but try to see if it connects automatically when wired.

Also it should connect automatically to your console as long as you have it set to Connect to your console under the Settings on the app. And make sure that both your phone and the console are on the same WiFi. This is how it will automatically recognize
it and connect, if that's what you'd like to do.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have a question on the Xbox WIFI. Unfortunately, if you switch WIFI connections, you will need to enter password when you switch back etc. As the console does not remember these automatically.
