    xbox does not see my wifi


    my xbox does not see my wifi network, however the other wifi it can locate. How do I make my wifi network appear on the console what should I change in my internet modem

    Xbox One does not see any SSIDs while my Xbox 360 sees them just fine.

    My Xbox One does not pick up any SSIDs. I have uplugged the Xbox One and plugged back in, restarted the router, and factory reset w/ saved games...it still does not see any wifi networks. It's just blank. It doesn't see my wifi or any of my neighbors
    wifi within range. If i try to manually type in the SSID it just says "connecting..." and does nothing and i end up back at the original screen of "choose your network connection...wired or wireless".

    The odd part is that my Xbox 360 picks up my wifi network just fine. It sees my wifi network and my neighbors that live within range.

    I don't want to factory rest the entire thing if it's just going to be a hardware problem that requires repair.

    Not connecting

    brand new Xbox one will not connect to my home wifi. Wifi is working computers and tablets are connected, but my network does not appear on the list of available networks.

    Many college wifi use enterprise level security to connect to their wifi. Xbox does not support this protocols. Check with you Schools I.T. support to see if they support gaming consoles on their student networks.

    Go to the settings of your Xbox 360. There under the network settings go to the additional network settings and reset it to factory defaults.

    Then have the console search for WiFi networks in the area. Does the SSID of your new modem show up?

    If so, then provide the correct Passkey for the WiFi and connect.

    If the WiFi doesn't show up, check your WiFi router if you have 2.4GHz WiFi enabled. Also make sure that you don't use "exotic" characters in your SSID like Umlauts (ÄÖÜ) or accented characters (áèû) or stuff like that.

    Also could you please describe in more detail at what stage your console fails to connect when you do a connection test to Xbox Live?

    Does it see your WiFi SSID?

    Does it connect to the WiFi but not the Internet?

    Does it connect to the Internet but not Xbox Live?

    Just wanted to clarify again that my Xbox detect every other Wifi network, but does not detect a mobile hotspot wifi.

    A few precisions : My Apple TV is normally connected to the internet by WIFI at home. I noticed that if I generate a WIFI via my Iphone, Minecraft works perfectly. I then turned off the firewall of my home WIFI to see if it was blocking
    Minecraft, but without success ...

    So for now, I know Minecraft works with the WIFI of my iPhone, but I do not know why it does not work on my home WiFi.

    Any idea?
