XBOX does not pop up on xbox companion app

Discus and support XBOX does not pop up on xbox companion app in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; I am trying to connect my xbox to my laptop (ASUS Q526) and it does not pop up on the app. I cannot manually type in the ip address for the xbox...     XBOX does not pop up on xbox companion app


    I am trying to connect my xbox to my laptop (ASUS Q526) and it does not pop up on the app. I cannot manually type in the ip address for the xbox because I can not connect to the laptop to view it. My college does not allow monitors so the only way to play
    is through this laptop.

    Yes the xbox companion app does recognize the games but Microsoft discontinued the ability to post clips from the xbox PC companion app and instead will give you a pop up saying that this app no longer supports this feature

    Why is there an xbox companion app and an xbox app for PC? Just put all the features in one app.

    xbox companion app is a legacy app from early windows 10, they are moving things over to the xbox app and the companion app will be discontinued eventually. you don't really have any reason to use the companion app now, which is why it does not come preinstalled on windows 11. game clips uploaded to xbox live should be visible from the gamebar.

    There does not seem to be any way to access clubs on Windows PC at the moment! As far as I'm aware the companion app is no longer working. When I run the companion app I get a: "We're consolidating Xbox experiences on PC and will no longer support this app." When you select 'Club feed' or 'Check in with club' from within Forza Horizon the Xbox app for PC is brought up, but that does not seem to have a menu that allows you to access clubs. What is wrong with Microsoft nowadays :(

    Does this error appear when trying to log in with your account on the Xbox app?

    If yes, close the Xbox app and download the Xbox Companion app and try logging in with your account on the Xbox companion app, after logging in open the Xbox app and see if that solves the problem.
