Why do you keep lying to us Xbox? Arcade titles and a few select titles to help sell new titles that don't even play correctly is not what we consider backward compatible.

CALL OF DUTY, AND SKATE HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED AS UPCOMING FOR 4 MONTHS AND COUNTING WITH ABSOLUTELY 0 UPDATES ABOUT THEM SINCE ANNOUNCED.

BUT, WE STILL GET TITLES THAT NO ONE EVER PLAYED OR VOTED FOR, OR TITLES WITH NEW RELEASES THAT DON'T EVEN WORK.

    :)

The Xbox One will not have backwards compatibility. There
could be the possibility of backwards compatibility later though.

Xbox Does Not Have Backward Compatibility

I've been waiting three months .. Day after day I look at the xbox site, seeking news and find nothing. Every day, I'm tired of it, angry and do not understand why not get the information.

I think that for us they are not interested, we are nothing to them.

The Skate 3 backwards compatibility vote thread has over 2350 comments, most of them asking for an update as to what's happening with the release date. We've still yet to receive a single response from anyone at Microsoft support.

The one thing you have to take into consideration is that MS is not in control of what games come to BC and which games do not. All titles that they do not own as an IP must first be given the "OK" to publish as a BC title. Whether it's EA, Activision,
Rockstar or whoever, MS cannot just go and place the game up for BC. Either said publishers must work on the titles to make sure they work correctly on BC or they tell MS it's good to go and MS then works on a BC compatible version and attempts to make sure
    the emulation works.

Some games were shown to be coming soon, it does not mean tomorrow, or even that month but more or less those titles are being worked on and are either ready or need more time due to emulation hiccups. You also have to consider that games with artist sound
tracks may or may not have renewed licenses to be republished on a new system as people who do not own them can buy them for BC. Other games are being held off for what we assume might be "special" e3 announcements regarding rumoured sequels and were accidentally
leaked as BC titles but were not intended to have been released (RDR).

@elquietone - I think the key point you're missing is that we are all disappointed and frustrated with Microsoft's lack of communication to its customers. Skate 3 was announced in the original BC promotion and people even purchased the 360 version of the
game in anticipation. Since then we've had no update and have been constantly ignored. A simple response from someone who knows the current state of things would help greatly ease the frustration.

That doesn't matter, as Black Ops 1 and Skate 3 were announced to be BC titles, thus they were approved and we still don't have them. So, it's well within our rights to chalk it up to lazyness on MS's part.

And don't even get me started on the Red Dead Redemption incident a few weeks ago. MS put it up for "testing", people found it, assuming it would be coming to BC, MS said "No. Sod off, mate!" took it back and started BANNING people and haven't said a word
    since.

Red Dead Redemption is currently the 3rd highest vote title for BC with over 130+ thousand votes and that happened and we still don't have it.

Again, Microsoft just doesn't care what people want.

  10. Hey guys and gals!

As previously mentioned, it is not solely up to Microsoft. They must first receive permission to make the titles Backwards Compatible. Alright, we see that there have been some permissions granted for games like Skate 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops, etc. But
it will take time to re-work these titles and test them to make sure they will run properly on the next generation consoles.

What we must remember, is that the Backwards Compatibility program is not a popularity contest. We as customers and users of the Xbox Platforms voice our opinion and tell Microsoft what we would like to see, or not to see. Sometimes these games receive many
votes on xbox.uservoice.com and Microsoft goes to obtain permissions from the producers/developers and are told no. I would suggest contacting the developers of current games on the Xbox Feedback site, and let them know as well how much you enjoyed the game(s)
and would enjoy seeing it playable on the Xbox One as well!

MS are even used the Skate 3 game cover as a teaser on the Backwards Compatibility information pages!

Well, you tricked me... I immediately bought the game digitally, but it turned out l still can't download/play the game.

Part of backward compability in November 2015?

Announced as an upcoming title for backward compatibility in December 2015?

Still marked as "in-progress" in March 2016?

Exactly WHAT is in progress, anyway?

This quote ---> "Jump ahead with Xbox One...enjoy your digital and disc-based Xbox 360 games"

(taken from an official Microsoft website "Get Xbox One Now $349" campaign)

is NOT TRUE. Do not fall for that trick. It's false advertising, and should be reported as such.

  13. Xbox Does Not Have Backward Compatibility

    Heya RilleW72,

That quote is talking about the ability to play Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One, which you can. So I do not see how the quote is not true and is "false advertising". Backwards Compatibility is a long process. When the concept was introduced to the public,
Microsoft released the titles that would be "Coming Soon". Titles like Skate 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops were never promised as part of the December BC release. In order for games to be officially backwards compatible, Microsoft first needs permission to
re-write the patches for the titles. Writing the patches can take months, especially for games reliant on Multiplayer. So just remain patient! More and more games will continue to be added to the backwards compatibility list.

    Backward Compatibility

Hi, Backward Compatibility does work on the Xbox One, but only the ones on the backward compatible list.

    www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility
The list will be getting updated with more games every month. So keep an eye on that list, eventually your games may become compatible.
