Xbox disc tray problem

    when i put my disc in my xbox one it speeds up and nothing happens any fixes ?

    Sometimes my Xbox One won't read discs.

    It's a problem with the disc drive where it doesn't always drop the disc into the tray and spin it. Hard rebooting fixes the problem, as does continuously insert/eject over and over.

    REPEAT FOREVER AND EVER

    Basically, the xbox is ALWAYS in a state of opening the disc tray. As soon as the tray finishes closing, the xbox opens it again. It will never even begin to try and read the disc that you slip in.

    I got this xbox on black Friday last year.

    I'm in Korea right now so I'm not shipping the stupid thing back.

    No *** answers please, I don't have time for them. A *** answer would be something like "check the grounding" or "clean the touch sensor."

    Can you elaborate a bit for us? Is the console not reading a disc you insert into the console or something else? Do you see any error codes or error messages?

    oh yeah, forgot to add, my disc tray is also having a problem sometimes where when i try opening the disc tray, the power button flashes as normal but the disc tray doesn't open. it opens after the 2nd time trying.

    It might be the Disc Tray Rattling Inside the Xbox if you get Disc Unreadable it might be a problem like Miss Kleo Verified

    Disc tray doesn't always open & Xbox stays running once switched off.

    The tray is not a common problem, sometimes depending on if you banged the xbox around too much the optical drive can align it's self in a weird position where it may have problems opening up the disc tray.

    @OP, I'm not sure if this is the best idea. The chances of damaging the disc tray are greater if you operate it without power. Intentionally operating the Xbox disc tray while not powered may also void your warranty. I'm not sure if the problem here is
    disc drive failure.

    By chance, is your Xbox console 4G?

    If I had to guess, I would say both of your 360's need to be fixed. I have had disc tray problems with 3 separate xbox 360's, each one was a disc tray issue similar to what you describe. Some games took a long time to work, others didn't want to work at
    all, sometimes I would have to open and close my disc tray dozens of times to get a game to work.

    The reason it doesn't work is because something is broken inside of your disc tray, or something that deals with your disc tray functionality.

    Like I said, this is just a guess.
