    XBox Developer mode


    I've recently purchased a developer account and wanted to activate dev mode on my Xbox One. However, when I choose dev mode manually or use the app from the Store, I'm getting "We can't authorize your console" and error code 0x8015963D. Tried resetting the xbox and clearing everything off of it. Not sure what I'm missing. Any help?

    Where did you hear it was going to be free? I find that extremely unlikely that they would ever do such a thing

    Just so that you're aware, developer mode is specifically to develop your own software. Any other uses is a violation of terms of service and can lead to account and hardware bans.

    as far as I know nothing changed in regards to that, but the real question is..should somebody do that.

    Only people that use the console for developing purposes should do that

    We would not recommend enabling developer mode on the console, unless you are a developer who is in the process of creating a new application.

    Additionally, the developer mode for the Xbox One console would not allow others to install a virus on accounts. We'd recommend reading over the

    Developer Mode Activation App FAQ     for further clarification in regards to this.

    Keep in mind this is a community-based forum so we don't work for Microsoft. Developer mode has not been disabled. If your account was deactivated, you would need to send an email to reportapp @ microsoft.com (remove the spaces) to report it so they can get your account reactivated.
