Xbox Deleting A Game

About 2 years ago I downloaded a free weekend access version of call of duty black ops Cold War but when that free weekend access was over I deleted the game and about a day later the game would reappear on my Xbox, this kept happening over and over again. I gave up. I about a year later I bought Cold War on disc and I could delete it and it wouldn’t come back. But recently I got the Xbox series s which doesn’t hold discs, so Cold War was brought over through my external hard drive and when I try and delete it, it reappear s a day later. This has been annoying me for ages and it takes up 158.5gb of my storage. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I've had games disappear, but they reappear when i do a restart.

Yeah it was only a couple gigs worth and I have 100 left

But was the space on your hard drive freed? If not, worry and hit factory reset

Hi EvanMurphy3, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

It may mean that the game on your hard drive is corrupted, you may need to reformat the hard drive in that way all games will be deleted, and for you to install any digital games that you own from there.

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage.

2. Select your device, and then select Format.

The "Delete Profile and Items" option will delete the profile and all save games linked to that profile on that Xbox (not sure about DLC?). If you chose the "Delete Profile and Items" option on your friend's Xbox, only the save games on that Xbox would be
deleted. The save games on your Xbox, and any of his save games will not be deleted.

You should probably choose the "Delete Profile Only" option, so all your saves remain.
