Xbox deleted my game when I tried to update it

    Xbox deleted my game when I tried to update it


    I got on my Xbox today and tried to download the update for Skyrim: Special Edition that was available. When the update started, it wasn’t downloading so I canceled the download and when the Xbox reset to the home desktop, the game
    was no longer there but when I looked for it in storage, the space that it took up was still taken up. When I went to the store to see if I could open it from there, it said I had to reinstall the game but the Xbox doesn’t have enough space for it to be reinstalled
    because space is already being taken up by a non-existent game that I own but don’t own.

    There is a big issue. More of an unfair one. I was on my xbox one s today, watching youtube, before that playing Call of Duty WW2. Then i try to hop back on COD and it says there’s an update, so of course, i try and update it. but when i do it says “this
    may take a while” or whatever and then proceeds to install the game. well what the hell i have already installed the game why does it says this?? i have to install the full 55 GB game AGAIN! the game isn’t in my library, only in my “ready to install” section.
    i downloaded it on the xbox, not a disc. PLEASE HELP! I’m redownloading it right now Xbox deleted my game when I tried to update it :mad: but i sure as hell don’t want my stats reset or anything! And of course i didn’t hit the uninstall button so don’t wanna even ask me that because i would’ve known!

    also, don’t tell me this either i have tried completely shutting down my xbox and turning it back on.

    have you guys tried to delete the current Xbox live update when I had this trouble code I had to reinstall it twice, when I did this I deleted my profile then downgraded my current update then went to up date my console and re download my profile try this

    I have tried deleting and redownloading my Xbox Live update, and that didn't work.

    I get an error message without a code when i first open it.

    Just wanted to let ppl know about my experience in overcoming the above problem. I tried deleting my profile and reinstalling it, which didn't work. I then deleted my cache and turned off my xbox. Instead of turning it on with the controller, I inserted
    my copy of MW3 (same game when initial xbox update occured), loaded the game immediately once I logged into xbox live and it worked. It was either that, or I shutdown xbox with the MW3 disk still inside. Turned on and loaded the game. Hopefully this helps.
