Xbox deleted my account?

Hey guys, quick question. I used to play Xbox pretty regularly and had to suddenly quit about 5 years ago after having gone through 6 different systems (curse you, RRoD and video chip failures). I've been a PS3/PS4 guy ever since. I recently acquired a 360
again and went to log in to my old account and the first thing I noticed was my gamertag was different then what I remembered it being. Then I noticed my gamerscore was down to zero and I had no friends in my list. Could Microsoft have purged my account? Do
they delete inactive accounts after a certain time? Is there any way to recover it? I'm pretty sure if I tried looking it up using the email address linked to the account it would only pop up the "newer" one.

Yeah. Should be on cloud if just the console save. When you delete via Xbox get option to delete local or delete everywhere. As long as deleted local should sync back next time

Clip Captures Auto-Saved to Console?

I captured a 2 minute clip last night while playing PUBG, and this morning when I went to view it, it buffered/stopped a few times while playing. This told me that I was viewing the clip that had been uploaded to xbox live, and that's what I was watching. I figured I didn't need it on there, and I could just view it straight from the console to eliminate the frustrating buffering issue. When I went to delete, it asked me "Delete from Xbox Live, your console or both?" Since it always asks and gives me the option when I delete clips, I assume that there is a copy on my console and on XBox Live. I selected XBox Live and it deleted it, but now I can't find it on my console and I'm afraid it never actually was on my console...though if that's the case, how did it go back to capture the clip in the first place? If someone could shed some light on where my clip is hiding on my console (if it even is), that would be great. Thanks

Hello Sam, your Microsoft account and your Xbox profile are one, you first create your Microsoft account with @outlook, or @hotmail etc. when you put that account on Xbox or sign in to the Xbox website it creates an Xbox profile that is attached to this email, so you can't separate them.

If you choose to permanently delete your Microsoft account, you'll also delete your Xbox profile.

If you're trying to have a personal account and a game-only account, which is ideal, it's best to leave the one that's already on Xbox just to play and create another personal account to use normally.

You can not delete only the xbox account, you must delete the microsoft account and all purchases go away with it. You have a 60 day waiting period after making this decision to delete it. See here to delete your microsoft account:

Please note that this does NOT make the gamertag available for other accounts to take it - rather the opposite. If you need this gamertag on another account you will have to purchase a name change to free it up for another account to take it.

Also, make sure you have cancelled all subscriptions on this page if you have them:

If changing your login email would fix your problem you can do that here:
