Xbox Dashboard Issues - Home Screen, Can't Get Into Settings

My Xbox is stuck on the Home screen on the Dashboard, I can open games that I have installed on the console but not apps like Netflix, or Settings, also I cannot go into My Games & Apps or click the button on the right side of the screen that says "Connect
to Xbox Live" I have already hard reset the console multiple times and still cannot do anything.

Dashboard Controller Issues

Update: apparently this only happens on the home screen/dashboard. Once I use voice commands to get deeper into the dashboard my A button starts functioning again.

 

Two Xbox Ones ?

yes you get any gold feature on any xbox one you are signed into. You do not have to be signed into the Xbox you designate HOME so the rest of your family or friends to enjoy gold benefits.

The Home setting can be found under settings, on the left hand side of screen bottom tab "my Home Xbox".

 

When you did the hard reset did you unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes prior to restarting the console. If not try that and let us know. Good Luck!

 

I can't even open the guide by scrolling left from the Home screen

When I try to open My games & apps it says I "need to install a game of app for this"

 

If a hard reset dosent help , the "offline update tool" is the only way to restore it if you cant get to settings....if you do get it back up , I suggest a wired connection at least for the updates...

I have the same issue except I can play neverwinter and netflix.

 

Finally got it to work. After trying probably 10-15 times to get the system to take the factory restore it finally worked. Hard reboot did not work even though the Microsoft customer support that was a one size fit all diagnosis for the Xbox One. The Factory
Reboot is definitely not ideal and I wish there was a better way to fix it, but it is way better than sending the Xbox in to Microsoft and "wait 10 to 20 days for completion", also better than buying a new system. Hope this works for everyone else as well.

 

Hard reset did not work unfortunately. So I had to reset it to factory settings with a USB and my laptop, which took probably 10 or 15 tries but it finally took. Thank god. I didn't want to wait 20 days for Microsoft to fix the system nor did I want to buy
a new Xbox. Tough fix but better than a dead system.
