Xbox dashboard is broken

The last 2 days, the dashboard has been an absolute mess. I open the on screen keyboard to type, the selection icon goes haywire to the top left corner or skips letters. Scrolling through Friends list, pressing down on D pad skips over people. Trying to close a game by hitting Quit is unresponsive. Completely broken. I do not want to see one community manager come in here saying to power cycle the console - I've seen at least 3 other threads in the last 6 hours saying the same thing, it is not us, it is the software. I've tried 2 controllers and both have the same issues.. skipping over menu items, keyboard cursor going to top left corner, unresponsive to A, etc. No power cycle in the universe is going to fix a broken update.

Does this happen with a controller connected with usb cable?

To test it...

Turn the console off. Connect the controller with usb to console and turn the console on.

If you still get unresponsive controller you may have to refresh the System OS keeping Games and apps.

Updated both controllers, still getting the same issues.. I hit the Xbox button on controller, the menu is completely unresponsive at times, Friends list won't open, none of the options respond to A.. using the DPad still skips over items, digital keyboard still goes to top left.. dumb

May I know if you tried factory resetting the console to see if that helps?

(But keeping games and apps)

Go to settings > system > console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

If you already tried that and just to confirm. Are you using a stable OS for your console. Right?

If that doesn't help and in case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed/updated from scratch.

Before that and in case you have USB accessories connected to your console please disconnect everything and check

Xbox released a controller update on the 21st and I have controller issues right after.. I'm sure they're unrelated

Have you run the steps in Update xbox wireless controller? All controllers you use need to run the firmware update.

The uSB method is my preference.

If you use a controller headset adapter make sure its connected to the controller prior to updating.
