    I actually found a post about it here

    So the problem is Xbox One menu sounds like the "whoosh" and "pling"... you know, those sounds when you select things or the go make selections in the menu guide/settings on the Xbox One dashboard, or when you open and close games, well yeah those sounds get cut off with a horrible 'scratch/pop/crackling' sound on certain occasions but not entirely random.

    It's tricky to explain. The above thread has a better explanation. The audio that plays when making certain selections gets cut off/glitched.

    Instead of hearing "pling or whoosh" you hear: pli-scratch or pli-pop.

    It sounds so petty but after 2 or so years I tell you, it gets extremely frustrating. Navigating the Xbox Store is so full of audio cut-outs/pops/crackles. Some games will have it in between loading/cut scenes or start up logos.

    So ..what I have tried to troubleshoot? Everything! XD

    - I've never been on the insider program, stock standard firmware
    - Happens on Xbox One S & Xbox One S All digital
    - Happens on a 1080p monitor and a 1080p TV
    - Wireless or Ethernet, no difference
    - 4 different controllers
    - HDMI-CEC disabled
    - Game mode on/off, no difference
    - All cables replaced x2
    - Happens on TV speakers, soundbar, optical, earphones via controller, doesn't matter

    The problem also seems to be worse when there are updates/games downloading

    I just never could figure it out. I'm convinced it's a problem with the firmware. Every update for past 2+ years I get excited but not much has changed

    I see the Series X/S uses the same dashboard...

    Xbox makes a loud buzzing sound

    Sorry for how long it took to respond, my xbox is set to stereo uncompressed under hdmi audio. The sound only happens right after the xbox logo pops onto the screen after a reboot and stops as soon as the dashboard pops up.

    I have been having this problem lately. The center channel cuts out or becomes fuzzy/staticy. Only happens on the Xbox One and only on apps/blu-ray. Doesn't seem to happen with games. What the hell is the problem? I'm reading that the X1 doesn't pass-through
    audio properly due to it mixing that audio with dashboard sounds and things. I don't care about the *** dashboard sounds, I care about being able to hear dialog on a show or movie...
