    Xbox Dark Display - unplug and plug back in and it's OK!


    Hi there.

    I have an XBox 360 Slim and when I play any game I need to unplug the HDMI cable and then plug it back in for it to display properly. If I don't it's very dark but unplugging and plugging it fixes it.

    Other devices (DVD, Apple TV, Digital recorder) on the screen work just fine, it only happens with the Xbox.

    Any ideas?

    My xbox 360 slim wont show video using VGA cord . HELP Please!

    turn xbox on, unplug all video/audio cables out of xbox and keep the other end still inside tv. turn off xbox and plug them back in, plug controller in and turn on xbox, then wait 4 seconds and press right on dpad 9 times, press a 4 times and left anolog
    stick up 3 times. Your display should be fine now Xbox Dark Display - unplug and plug back in and it's OK! :)

    Ok just fixed mine. Turn off xbox and unplug. Then reset modem and plug in the xbox. Problem solved.

    Hey there Coast,

    That's a bit odd for sure, have you tried to change the HDMI cable or the HDMI port the console is plugged into on the TV? That might have an effect and help out. Also does this happen as soon as you turn the console on or when the console has been on for
    a while? The console has a screen dimming feature when the console has been inactive for a long time and that might be what's going on here.

    Xbox wont display

    unplug the power from the xbox console, and then plug it back in, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds so it loads up in a basic display mode and see if the display appears

    Ok, try this: go to your xbox settings and do a shutdown. Once the xbox is off unplug the xbox from the wall, and unplug the power cord from the back of the xbox. Leave it unplugged. Next, reset your router / modem. Once it's done cycling plug the power
    cord back to the xbox, then plug it in to the wall (don't use a surge protector), fire up the xbox and give it a go.

    Ok I got it fixed I think. I turned the xbox off unplugged the hdmi cable and then plugged it back in and so far it works.

    XBOX UPDATE FREEZES

    It seems to be related to the network. My Xbox turns on ok if I unplug the ethernet cable. I tried plugging it back in and doing a round of network tests, which ran ok. As soon as I tried backing out, it froze again.
