    Hi

    I posted a question about my One X freezing/crashing when playing RDR2 and thought i had solved it by reinstalling.

    Well it worked for a mission at which point i had turn off and do some bits and pieces round the house. Came back an hour later and half way through the next mission it just froze. Tried again and it froze again. Tried an alternative mission and... you
    get the point. If it helps the music cuts out first and i could walk around for a little bit but not do any actions?!

    I decided to try another game to see if it was a bad copy/install of RDR2 so I played some of the COD WW2 story and then 15-20 minutes in it crashed and went to the home screen.

    I have done resets, re installs, power cycles, network resets, clearing cache - basically every issue with the xbox i could google and its still crashing.

    Its out of warranty and Microsoft only offer a replacement for £188 so would like this to be a last resort. CEX offer a repair service cheaper but without knowing the problem and reading the reviews i dont know whether to trust them!

    Can anyone suggest anything or have experience dealing with microsoft/CEX repairs?

    I assume a public operating system build - how would i know?
    If you have owned the console since new and never enrolled in the Xbox Insider preview (downloaded the Xbox Insider Hub and joined) then you will be on a public build. If it is a pre owned console, then download the Insider Hub app from the Xbox store and
    open it. On the left hand side of the landing screen you will see settings, open that and go to manage devices. It will show there if it is enrolled and you can remove it if it is. They do recommend not using an extension (though most I would suspect, here
    in the UK do)

    I think what he means is, are you using a surge protector, or an extension cable.

    It is plugged ito an extension cable. Have tried unplugging it for a few minutes with no success.
