Xbox Controllers (two) Scrolling Up

Hi,

My Xbox controllers, have both started to scroll up, in game and move fast through the xblox landing page.

It happens regardless of controller, and the impact on controllers started at the same time.

The Right directional wheel especially starts to scroll up, after the left directional wheel has been pushed forwards.

I've tested this in various games and on the Microsoft accessory test button page.

I've tried:

Turn off controllers and back on.

Turn off Xbox, unplug, leave for a minute and restart.

Turn off xbox, reset, not keeping save games and restart.

Xbox One X is software/firmware is showing as up to date.

Xbox controller software/firmware is showing as up to date.

How can I try to fix this issue?

It doesn't appear to be physical controller issue, as it has impacted two otherwise perfectly working controllers at the same time.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Forums. I'd be happy to help.

You need to have two Xbox profiles signed in and linked to a controller for a split-screen game to recognize two players. You can also add a guest from the Sign in tab when pressing the Xbox button and then scrolling to the far left when the guide
pulls up. However, it's best to have an account for your son and an account for yourself on the console set up in a Microsoft Family. If you already have two accounts on the console just sign in to both and then turn on the controllers. If an account is not
linked to a controller, the Xbox menu should pull up for the controller to choose the account they are going to play as.

Sign in to two profiles and link them to each respective controller and then try loading up the split-screen mode in Human Fall Flat. Let us know if you have any other questions!

If this only happens with this controller I would say it's a problem with the controller's hardware. Instead of buying a new controller, I would take the controller to an electronics repair shop in my city, it would be cheaper than buying a new one.

I just turned on my Xbox One X today and now my dashboard just keeps scrolling to the right. I have a elite controller and two brand new controllers. They all are doing the same thing even after following the three methods listed and cleaning the RB button.
Even just turning on the Xbox itself, it'll automatically just scroll to the right with no controllers turned on. During in game it does not happen only on the dashboard. Please help and fix this issue.

Its a maxed out type scroll. Unable to scroll back up without holding the left analog stick up and tapping the D pad up, which still might not work. It will scroll down fast as hell to the bottom of any list of selections and stay there. I cant select
anything on the xbox home screen or in a game, where it first started. As it sits now the controller is unusable. Not sure if an update to the controller would help or not or if i need to just buy a new controller. Hope this gives a better idea of whats going
on.
