xbox controllers turning off while fully charged

both my new and old xbox controllers turn off whilst having full batteries. they also tend to turn off with the power button staying on, which i find weird. sometimes re-pairing the controller to the xbox keeps it working for at least 30 minutes, but after that they stop working again. is their any way i can fix this?

I'm sorry to hear you've been having a hard time with your controllers.

I'd suggest power cycling both your console and your controllers, like this:

- Press and hold your controller's Xbox button until it shuts down.

- Remove your controller's batteries and the Micro-USB cable (if plugged in) for a minute or two.

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

- Remove all external devices from the console's USB ports.

- Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes. If you have the original Xbox

One, you'll need to unplug the power supply unit from both the console and the

outlet.

- Plug the power cord back in, and make sure to use one of the wall's outlets.

- Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

* If necessary, try pairing your controller again.

well if you plug the cord to the controller to charge the battery while the console is still on and you are playing a game how do you shut the console off and continue to charge the controller? i thought it didnt matter how you shut the console off because
it will always remain charging until the battery is fully charged no matter what way you turn it off?

Yes: either Background Downloads, or Cloud Storage syncing your saved games with the cloud. Or a controller connected with the Play & Charge kit... all perfectly normal, as long as the console turns off fully in a little while (or maybe longer if it
is the controller charging).

5v 1A should work fine but start at the 0.5A if that's fully charging the battery while you aren't playing it then the supply is meeting the charging demands. Long term the higher the power supplied, the lower the lifespan of the battery

If your Xbox is set to instant-on then it should continue to charge the controller even when you turn it off

Turn it off and unplug it, once the battery is fully charged is better to use the controller instead lof leaving it charging, as it might reduce the battery life.
