XBox Controllers on Windows 7

Recently arrived in a forward deployed location with my old Windows 7 gaming laptop and brought along my new Xbox One Wireless controller with the USB wireless adapter. Not having any luck with getting that installed. Saw some shady looking after market drivers which I am going to avoid if like the plague for obvious reasons.

Figuring this controller might be incompatible I ordered a Razor Wolverine Ultimate (wired) to use instead... same issues. No manual drivers and while windows recognizes what it is by name it can't find drivers for it either (for Windows 7).

Does anyone know if there is anywhere LEGITIMATE I can download drivers for either of these for Windows 7?

Make sure your controller is update as per: https://support.xbox.com/en-IE/xbox-one/accessories/update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

Update the Xbox Controller drivers as per "Windows 8.1 and Windows 7" section of: https://support.xbox.com/en-IE/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

So to understand the situation you are on Windows 7 and you cannot find the driver for the Xbox controller but a Logitech controller does work when wired, is that correct?

If so, are you trying to use an Xbox 360 controller, and have you tried it wired as well?

ok, just noticed that when the controllers are both plugged in, they come up as two different xbox peripherals under device manager (got 3 controllers, 2 come up as xbox controller and 1 comes up as microsoft xbox one controller?) 2 controllers are model
# 1708 which come up as xbox controller, and the other is model # 1537 which comes up as Microsoft xbox one controller.

both model# 1708's work together ie 2 player games, so it seems to be a conflict between controller models which is a joke
