Xbox controllers not working correctly

I'm having issues with my Xbox one controllers. I have both a wireless and a wired controller. Neither of which will work properly for very long. My wireless controller won't even connect anymore even with the plug and play charger. My wireless controller
just stops working and the character on screen continues moving in the direction it was travelling when the controller cut out. At first I thought this was an issue with the Witcher 3 because my controller worked properly with Arkham Knight yesterday. However
after about 10 minutes of gameplay today, the controller began exhibiting the same symptoms as before. A hard reset works for a bit but then it's back to square one. Unplugging the controller and plugging it back in doesn't work and most of the time I just
have to reset or wait for the controller to stop acting up. Is there any way to fix this issue or am I going to have to send my Xbox in?

Controllers 3.5 mm jack not working correctly

Is there ANY thing I would be able to try? The headset works just fine on my 3 other controllers. Im at the end of my rope over here I know I no longer have any warranty on my console or the controller

Thanks for your response, unfortunately there is no other steps we could recommend for a broken 3.5mm jack, it's not recommended to open and attempt to repair a controller or anything along those lines.

Check for any updates, such as this XBOX Update controller firmware article
especially if you have an older version.

My preference is the uSB wired method.

It may also be helpful to check Set up and troubleshoot headset adapter

Hi you can try remake the controller calibrations in Settings >Devices > controller

You tried remake that recalibration, or no yet?

That was an unexpected thing to happen. Based on your description, in the middle of an online match your controller stopped working except for Home button. This could be a controller issue; specific game issue or server issue or console issue and we need to isolate this first. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps:

1. Make sure that your Xbox console is up to date with the latest system updates. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > Updates & downloads.

2. Try connecting the controller to the Xbox console using a different USB cable or wireless connection.

3. If the issue persists, try resetting your Xbox console to its default settings. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Console info > Reset console > Reset and keep my games & apps.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, I recommend trying to use different controller while playing this online game and see if issue persists.

If issue still persist, try using that different console and play on the same online game and see if issue persists.

Lastly, try another online game and see if you have issues with the controller.

It could potentially be that in the process of playing a game that the joysticks have somehow become faulty & that's causing the craziness, this can often happen when the joystick is pressed in during gameplay in a manner that is slightly more hurried
and as a result a little more forceful.
