XBOX controllers not scrolling normally in game!!

So I used my XBOX series X about 10 times since I purchased it a few months ago. I only purchased it to play with my nephews when I get a chance.

My problem I just discovered after turning it on a few days ago was my controller analog sticks are not moving normally in game, it feels like they are moving to fast like they are over compensated and trying to shoot in a first person shooter game is impossible to try and aim steady and shoot. I tried on two different games, Halo and Fortnite and it's happening in both games so I know it's not a settings issue within the game.

I tried updating the console and controller and still no luck. I even went out and purchase a new controller just in case my current one had stick drift for some reason and I'm still getting the same result with a brand new controller. I went ahead and reset my console to factory settings since I really had nothing on there and reinstalled Halo and tried and still getting the same result with analog sticks not moving correctly.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out. All updates are straight from console and no beat builds should be installed especially after a full factory reset.

Oh and yes I even tried connecting my controller with a cable straight to the XBOX and same result. I heard of "Fast Scroll" but I don't believe this is not the problem because on the man screen it scrolls normal.

So I should try installing an offline update is what your saying? Even if my console is up to date it will still update again?

I will try this when I get home and let you know the results.

Hi, that's a possibility.
Do you have enabled VRR in your TV settings?
If yes, please disable it

So I figured it out, it was actually a video setting in the Xbox settings that I had turned on I guess when I was setting up my new TV. I actually checked on "Dolby Vision for Games" and I guess if you don't have your HDMI plugged into a 120HZ HDMI on your TV and enabling Dolby Vision than you will be experience this problem.

It really felt like lag/over compensation when moving the sticks.

Also forgot to mention and was going through the community to see if I can find similar issues and came across one where they said they are experiencing input lag with their controller and it has something to do with their TV settings. Well I just purchase a brand new Sony Bravia XR X90K, could the resolution setting be the one responsible with my actual game play?
