    Controller Vibration.

    Possible reasons:

    1. Your batteries are being detected as very low. The Xbox controller shuts off vibration the battery is very low. Try different batteries?

    2. You have vibration turned off in the game options.

    3. Your controller may be broken.

xbox one s controller with headphones conneted

Unfortunately there is not a way to change the time out on the controller. It is set up this way to conserve battery life. Only suggestion I could give is to use a charge and play to eliminate the need for replaceable batteries and occasionally move one
of the sticks to keep it active. Disabling the vibration feature can be another useful option to extend power life. I am no stranger to the controller shutting off during non game use but I just move a stick and it never shuts itself off. Hope this helps.
Good luck and enjoy the new system!

Can you turn off the Controller "X" light?

If you do not have any batterys in the controller. It shut off immeditlly. I right now have no battery in the controller. It must have no power to this to work.

[PC] Xbox One Controller Won't Turn Off

Just figured it out. You need Windows 10, bluetooth motherboard and an xbox one controller. You need to go to settings, devices, and hit

"Add Blue & other devices." Click the pairing button on the controller. It might not recognize the controller by name. I had to click on unknown. Go back to device menu. Under "other devices" should say "xbox one wireless controller." That is how
you know it is paired. Then when you hold the xbox button down on the controller for 5 seconds it will shut off. Been using the controller for years, having to remove the batteries to turn it off. Would not turn off with usb wireless attachment.

My new play and charge kit acting weird

well if you plug the cord to the controller to charge the battery while the console is still on and you are playing a game how do you shut the console off and continue to charge the controller? i thought it didnt matter how you shut the console off because
it will always remain charging until the battery is fully charged no matter what way you turn it off?
