Xbox controllers don't connect and console led isn't turned on

As the title says, when I turn on my Xbox the led in the middle doesnt turn on, but it displays. The controllers don't connect at all and I've tried everything. I know that the two are relatrd because for a week it had been working off and on. When it was
working the led on the console would turn off and the controllers would all dissconect. I would wait 5minutes - an hour and it would work and then in an hour or so have the same problem

My 360 is having major problems in less then a day

My Xbox 360 has been turning itself on all the time until it is unplugged, The LEDs lights hasn’t Been lit up (even when on), and my controllers won’t connect to the console and it’s not the controller because I tried it on 3 different controllers and since
the LED light isn’t working on the Xbox it won’t let me try to sync the controllers and all this started when I turn on my Xbox in the morning.

Controllers on and connected but not working

I have turned off my controllers, turned off my console, turned the console on then turned my controllers on. Both controllers are connected and on but I can do anything with them. It doesn't matter what button I press, nothing happens.

I can navigate the menu's with the Kinect voice control, so the Xbox One isn't crashing or anything. Any idea as to what I can do?

Hi there,

Please turn of the console and when it is fully powered off, disconnect the power supply from the wall socket and from the console. Also disconnect any usb devices if they are connected to the console.

Leave the power supply disconnected for at least 60seconds and then reconnect it to the console and wall socket and power up the console (Leave any usb devices disconnected)

Let us know the results

This did not work, although I tried several times. Also now the Xbox is not displaying.

Ok, so the Xbox console isn't showing any image on the TV/Monitor?

What color does the power supply show when the console is off and what is the color when the console is on?

No image, although I know it's connected because when it's off the screen is blue when it's on the screen goes black

The power connector is yellow when off, green when on

I am most likely just ordering a. New rf module and gonna see where that takes me.

When it is green when on and yellow when off then the power supply is fine. No need to replace that one.

Can you try changing cables to connect the console to the TV, to see if the cable is causing the issue, also try to see what happens when connecting to a different TV.

Doing these steps will determine if the console or something else is causing the issue

If none of the steps work I do advise to contact Xbox Support to see if they have any additional steps to try, if not they will likely advise to have the console serviced.

ok it's been awhile but my rf module just got here today and I popped that sucker in and it fixed my led/ controllers not connecting problem, but the Xbox is not displaying. I know that it is connected because it is a blue screen when I i off and black when
I run the console on, so it is somewhat connected but it is not displaying

Can you try the following then: Turn the console off. Press and hold on your controller the Y and RT buttons (RT is the right analogue trigger, that most games use as gas pedal in racing games or gun trigger to shoot in shooting games). With Y and RT held
down, press the Guide button on the controller to turn the console on.

Do you now see a picture?

I have the exact same problem.

I can use the controllers for any length of time once connected but as soon as I turn the console off the controller gets disconnected once I turn the unit back on.

If I try to turn the unit back on via the controller the LED on the controller simply flashes and the console stays off.

If I turn the console on manually the controller isn't connected and no amount of re'syncing will fix it.

The only way for me to reconnect the controller is to do a full system reset and then use the controller to turn on the console.

Really annoying having to full reset my console every time I want to use it.

Considering returning the console.

Okay I turned it on but the led lights won't turn on! I can't connect any controller too. Even if I plug it in.

Obsessive Power

Xbox controllers use the console's own direct wireless connection, they don't use Bluetooth. There is no such adaptor to turn a hard wired controller into a wireless controller on Xbox consoles.

Would I know if the same behavior with the buttons occur when you connect your controller to the USB port of your Xbox?

In addition to that, you said the controller now doesn't turn on, but you said that the Xbox button is the only one that works.
Do you mean that when you press the button to turn on the controller, the LED temporarily turns on, but then it turns off, or the LED on the button is active and remains in that way?

If your controller isn't pairing to your Xbox, not even after pressing the pairing button, then try to connect your controller to a PC using a USB cable, or even using Bluetooth. If the console isn't allowing you to pair, then just turn it on as usual by pressing the power button on it, and then connect the USB cable with your controller connected to it, to your console. This should pair your controller to the console automatically.
