Xbox Controllers - Best replacement??

Hello

So I have 2 Xbox One controllers that I bought when the Xbox One came out. Both are have analog stick drift issues and are no longer under warranty. Online tutorials on how to fix them did not work.

I am thinking about buying a new controller. However, I want to make sure that the Xbox Controllers Microsoft is currently selling no longer have this issue. My original controllers started experiencing drift really early. I dont want to buy a 60$ new controller,
and have the same problem in 4 months.

Secondly, does anyone have any experience with the Halo 5 controller? Or the Lunar controller with the grips?

For any game, I always thought the standard Xbox One controller was fine...

The
Xbox One Elite controller has the option of switching out joysticks for different types, which might be something you're looking for. It is a bit pricy at $150, but it has a lot of customizable features.

Many people have no issues with the controllers while others do. The controllers are a personal choice. I have the regular controller that came with the console (no issues at all) and I also have a design labs controller and an elite controller. I like
them all but I have no experience with the specific controller you mention.

Since the update wasn't helpful, I believe the best option for you is to get a replacement for your controller: Request an Xbox controller replacement

Sorry about the controller drift trouble. Unfortunately if one your sticks is drifting, a repair or replacement is going to be your best option as outlined in this

Xbox One Wireless Controller Troubleshooter. Depending on your region and when you bought it you may be eligible for a replacement via warranty, if not purchasing a replacement is going to be your best option.

The reason for asking what issues were being experienced when attempting to connect it directly to a device is to confirm if it is indeed the controller that is at fault for this process not working.

If you've determined that the controller is at fault, a suggested replacing of the controller is in order.

Really sorry to hear you're experiencing this drifting issue. I'm afraid for this particular issue your best option is to Replace or Replace the controller. If your controller is still under warranty you can set up a replacement over on our
Online Service Center. If your controller is no longer under warranty than I'm afraid purchasing a replacement is going to be your best next option.
