    Xbox controller won’t update


    I had issues connecting my controller wirelessly to my xbox one x. I had issues syncing it aswell. Even a cable connection didnt work. Eventually i power cycled the console and unpluged it. This let the wired connection work and the console prompetwd
    me to uodate the controller. After multiple attempts to update (with different cables) the progress wouldnt move from 0% and eventually would tel me the update failed. Yea k did try doing it with the baterries removed. After this i tried updating it on my
    windows 10 computer and the accessories app. Here i faced the same problem with the update progress not getting past 0% and eventually saying the uldate failed. Please help me

    Yes the controller is fully updated and i have firmly attached the headset but still won’t work.

    Hey Vincent,

    Yes, you can use the controller while connected to the console using usb cable. This won’t affect performance and won’t damage the controller. Using the controller wired of course means you don’t need to use batteries.

    You can also update the controller while connected through USB cable.

    Standard xbox one controllers require a micro USB cable. The elite series 2 and xbox adaptive controllers require USB type C cable.
