    Xbox controller won't turn on and don't know how to fix


    Just a week a go i was watching the new movie "sponge on the run", once finished, I went to bed. I woke up wanting to play halo, when my controller won't turn on. I was trying to fix like putting new batteries, putting in a charger, and taking it apart but I couldn't fix it. Is there a chance I could get a new one in exchange?

    X Box One controller not always turning system on?

    Hi,

    This also happens to me. I have tried to turn on my Xbox One simply by pressing down that "X," the system won't turn on. Therefore, I decide to go the old way, pressing that X on the console. I don't know, but I don't think we can turn on our consoles just
    by pressing that "X" on our controllers, firmly!! If anyone has a better idea how to fix it, I'd be happy to know! But I think that is how it is made! That should be the only way to turn on!

    Sylas, there are only three options for you (2 if you don't know how or don't want to solder). Go buy another controller, fix current controller by using a soldering iron, or sell your XBOX stuff and buy a PS4 (which is what Im doing) Just sold my X0 7 headphones!
    Otherwise Mr. Quimby and co. will try to tell you that power cycling your xbox might fix the issue, but it won't. Its a known hardware defect, sort of like the RROD on the 360 years ago. They have however fix the issue by selling new controllers, but won't
    acknowledge people with original controllers..go figure..anyways good luck

    Xbox One standby mode.

    I'm having the exact same issue. I don't know if my Xbox is in standby mode, or how to put it in standby mode, but when I say, "Xbox on", nothing happens. I think I may be shutting it all the way off when I turn it off but I don't know how to not do that.
    That also means that hdmi won't pass through, so I have to reach for the xbox controller when I just want to watch television.
