Xbox Controller Wont Sync When Charging Via Non-Console Ports

this worked just a week ago, my PC is closer and its much easier to swap my PS4 an XO controllers there than having either 2 cords from each, or switching them at the console area itself

now as soon as its plugged in, it desyncs from the Xbox, i also tried it using just my phone USB adapter that plugs into a normal socket and it still wouldn't stay synced.

do the newer controllers which can update wirelessly fix this issue?

How to Sync a Wireless Controller

The following guide will help you connect any extra controllers purchased to your console. Please note the controller that came with your Xbox One is already synced. Conveniently there are now three different ways to sync a controller, which are:

• Using the console’s connect button
• Using Kinect
• Using a USB to micro-USB cable.

Method One: Connect Button​

Let’s start with the first and most important step, install batteries into the controller. Next, turn on the controller by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the controller.

If the controller is not synced then you will see the light on the Xbox button will pulsate, if it is already synced then it will display a solid light.

Next press the sync button on your console; it is located on the left side of the console, right next to the disc drive.

Immediately afterwards press the sync button on the controller. It is a small round button on the top of the controller, near the mini usb port.

Once the controller syncs with the console the light on the controller will flash a few times before switching to a solid state.


Method Two: Kinect ​

First lets make sure the console and controller are both powered on.

Press the sync button on the top of the controller and wait for the light on the controller to pulse. Aim the controller towards the Kinect and make sure the LEDs on the controller ARE FLASHING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE KINECT.

Once the Xbox light on the controller stops pulsating and goes solid, your controller has successfully been synced with your console.


Method Three: USB Cable​

Using a micro usb connection or the play & charge kit, connect the controller to the console. This will automatically sync the controller (note the console must be powered on first.). This will also turn your wirelesses controller into a wired controller, meaning no battery would be necessary.

 

anyone help me my wireless headset is stuck on port 2 and wont sync to port 1

my wireless headset wont sync to port one with my controller it just goes to port two and wont work but when i turn my controller off it goes to port one and works but wont work with my controller on anyone help me ???

 

Basically, I think your PC has installed the Xbox One Controller drivers, so now when you plug in your controllers they sync straight to the PC.

You can either purchase USB cables that only supply power. just search "power only" or "data block" USB cables from amazon or ebay.

Alternatively, if your confident and you have spare USB Cables, you can pick any point down the cable, carefully cut through the outer sheath, then inside there will be 4 coloured wires. Red and black will be the power, while green and white will be the
data. You can cut through the green and white then tape it back up and use that.

 

I use a dual charger but decided to use the tv usb port I was having to re-assign the controller every 3/4 days gone back to console ports no issues now.
