So, I don't think I've ever encountered this problem until these past 2-3 days. I been playing on my X1 (purchased...2014? 15?) and suddenly I ran into a problem involving my controller. The controller is on, but no button or joystick input is being read
by the box. I'm playing Destiny, and suddenly the character might...stop moving or keep moving like it's reading a forward motion, but I have no control over it. The xbox button isn't flashing during all of this so it's not like the controller is trying to
find the box (where a notification will pop up or something saying "your wireless controller has been disconnected").

Turning the controller off and back on doesn't change anything. I tried taking out the rechargeable battery and putting it back in to no avail. I even tried plugging in the charging cable thinking it would make a direct connection with no change.

I turn off the xbox after this and the controller is still on. Usually when I turn off the xbox, my controller turns off with it. Now whenever I encounter this problem I have to take out the battery (or batteries) in order to turn off the controller.

I moved onto the power brick from this. I would unplug the brick, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. With that things would come back to normal, but it is always temporary and would revert back to the same problem. I had the best luck with an unplugged power
brick for 2 1/2 hours and this solution lasted the longest before going back to giving me grief.

I am convinced the problem is in the box. For the record, my Xbox One has a confirmed wi-fi board (or wi-fi chip? can't remember) problem and cannot connect to Wi-fi and requires an ethernet to access the internet. I don't know if that problem will affect my
xbox controller as it went through all of last summer with the wi-fi board issues and none of this controller problem. For the record: This controller problem reminds me of those times when I would play on a N64 and suddenly my character would move on their
own or do an action which requires a button press, only to be remedied by shutting off the game unplugging the controller and plugging back in.

If there is a thread with a similar issue with a solution, I am open to it. If the only solution at this point is to get a new box well...I'm in a tough spot but I will figure it out.

    :)

Xbox Controller won't connect-please read details

From what you described in the beginning, it seems like your controller might have " drift " in the joysticks. this is caused by this plastic pice that breaks over time due too high mileage on the controller. I would see if game stop might be able to
see if that is the actual problem. If it is not then i would file a claim with xbox and go that route.

free games with gold on xbox one.. equals pitiful

Hmm... I'm sure I just read through this whole thread without one person giving details as to why they thought the game was so bad? Can someone please give their opinion? Was it the controls or something? I actually thought I might enjoy this, but won't
be putting it on for a while.

xbox controller is not being detected by cloud gaming on chromebook

I have tried to reset cache and cookies and it hasn't worked, the controller is a wired PDP brand controller and I am connecting it via usb. Third party gamepad tester websites will read my inputs but the official xbox cloud gamign website won't.

    Xbox One controller/Compatibility.

It's safe to assume no controllers from the 360 will work with the Xbox One. They've said 360 accessories won't work with the Xbox One, but didn't go into nitty gritty detail.

It's been confirmed that when connected via micro USB, the Xbox One controller switches from radio to USB for data. There's been no word as to PC support.
