xbox controller won’t connect and usb turns off xbox

so i used my xbox controller on my pc last night and it was working fine. this morning i tried to reconnect them using the sync and what not it didn’t work. i tried changing batteries and controller but nothing, it would just vibrate twice and turn off. i found a usb that i was going to use to connect my controller that way but it turns my xbox off and it makes a high pitched noise.. really not sure what this could be i thkugjt my xbox was just getting old since i’ve had it for over half my life. thanks!
