  1. Xbox Controller wont charge using the Charge Kit Battery Pack

If I try to charge it the light on the cable goes orange for like 10 seconds as it should and then turns white even though the battery is still empty.

The controller is working fine while plugged it so its not the cable, I've tried different cables too but none works.

Tried cleaning the contact points but didnt fix it.

Firmware is updated to the latest on the xbox accessories app.

Tried using different usb sources and different usb ports on my pc, didnt work either.

I'm using the controller on Windows btw.

    :)

Well here's what I'm doing. I don't suspect I'll need a 2nd controller for a while, so I simply reserved, payed off the Play and Charge kit by itself, which does come with the battery pack. Again, as others have stated too,
there's the controller bundle, which you get the play and Charge Kit, battery pack, and of course the controller. Rather than the console itself doesn't come with the Play and Charge Kit or the battery pack rather than AA alkaline batteries. (If you recall
this is how it was with XBox 360 Play and Charge kit as well; a battery pack came standard with the charge cable because there'd be no use for the cable othe.rwise as it simply doesn't charge alkaline batteries.)

Which is best for FPS wired or Wireless Controller

Get a Play n' Charge one and you can have the best of both worlds.

Well to be honest, the only people that really should be using a play and charge kit are the people who only own one controller and one battery pack. This is quite obvious the advantage to them.

There is absolutely no reason to use a play and charge kit when you own 2 battery packs, and/or controllers because what you do is you always keep the charged pack in the cradle or 2nd controller while using the other one. That way you
always have one fully charged battery on hand at all times and you will never be without a battery pack and have to endure the very long wait time it takes to charge with the play and charge kit... especially when you are playing at the same time.

Again, the play and charge kit as far as I'm concerned was designed for people who only own a single battery pack. A much better option is to invest in the New black quick charge kit and an extra battery pack (giving you 2 battery packs total) while always
keeping a fully charged pack on hand. Not only that but the Quick Charge Kit is over twice as fast as a play and charge kit.

Play n' charge kit - 6 to 12 hours depending on if you are using it while it is charging

Quick charge kit - Less than 2 hours for a single pack, Less than 4 hours for 2 packs being charged simutaneously.

This is a no brainer. Quick charge is the much better option hands down, and why anyone would rather be tethered to console like the PS3 is beyond me. IMO that wireless controller isn't really a true wireless controller if you charge it with the play and
charge. Seriously as soon as I got 2 battery packs, it makes absolutely no sense to use the play and charge kit ever again.

    Hi there Makc,

Thanks for update on the issue with the issue. To help clarify, are you using a Xbox Play and Charge Kit for the Xbox One controller?

If so, I recommend to try the following article: Troubleshoot the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit battery

How do most of you charge your controllers?

I use the play and charge kit, it works pretty good, and the awesome thing is you can continue to use the controller without having to take rechargeable batteries out and putting new batteries in. The battery pack for the play and charge kit lasts about
as long as normal double A batteries would. If I don't feel like plugging the controller in and playing with it connected to the Xbox, I will sometime put a different battery pack into the controller and charge the dead pack after I am done playing for the
day that way it will be charged when I am ready to use it next.
