    Xbox Controller Will Not Pair


    Im having an issue with my xbox controller an want preface this first by saying, ive tried fresh batteries, ive tried reseting the controller, ive tried powering off my xbox, ive tried a micro usb.

    The issue is i can't seem to connect my controller after i mistakenly unplugged it during a firmware update, now when i try to connect it wirelessly it turns off immediately upon connection when i let go of the power button on the controller, if i dont let go it just continues blinking and wont turn on, and when its not connected it turns on and obviously the light blinks on and off. And when i use a micro usb cable it just turns on like it is connected but my xbox doesn't detect it and i can't navigate the menu or anything. I navigate to the update menu using my phone but the option for the controller doesn't show up even though it is plugged in and turned on. Please help, i cants afford another 80$ controller does anyone have a fix?

    Press the pairing button on your controller: On your controller, there is a pairing button (usually on the bottom of the controller, near the Xbox button). Press and hold this button until the LED on your controller starts blinking.

    Wait for it to pair: The LED on your controller should stop blinking and turn one of four colors, indicating that the pairing was successful.

    To unpair it, press and hold the pair button on top of the controller for a few seconds until it vibrates twice.

    Then, pair it again.

    Turn on your controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button.

    Press and release the Pair button on the Xbox.

    Within 20 seconds, press and hold the controller’s Pair button (a circular button on top of the controller as you hold it in your hands) until the controller's Xbox button flashes a few times.

    That means it's searching for a console.

    The Xbox button stays lit once it's connected

    This is how I fixed my controller. Put your controller on pairing mode and restart your Xbox by pressing holding the start button. Then turn your Xbox on and pair the controller. Your controller will start working again.

    Joe, I have solved this issue. Go here: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/xbox-accessories/9NBLGGH30XJ3 and download XBOX accessories app. Then with a USB type C, which is what I use for my Samsung phone, connect your controller to your PC/laptop and open the app. The app will notify you that you need to update your controller. After the update I deleted all pairings between the controller and TV and started a new pair. At first the TV would recognize the controllers and give the message "need pairing" but the TV wouldn’t pair the controller. I did a hard reboot on the controller and a reboot of the TV and paired again and voil there was the controller paired to XBOX. I hope this works for you
