Xbox controller turns off when in party chat with a friend

I know this sounds crazy, but it happens ALL the time.

I play online a lot, across multiple games and never have an issue. However, there is ONE friend I game with who when we are in a party chat, MY CONTROLLER TURNS OFF. Its only with this one friend (other friends who play with him don't have this issue). We have tried EVERYTHING:

- Resetting networks

- Resetting consoles

- Resetting/updating controllers

- Etc.

I had this issue with Xbox 1 (we both had Xbox 1s), then we both got Xbox Series X, and the issue persists. Crazy, right?

The only thing that I have found that works is plugging my controller into console, but then I cannot sit in my theater chair to game.

Any thoughts? Am I the only one with this issue?

Not sure if it is a network or controller issue but you can try this as well;

Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select Settings > Select Network Settings > Select Advanced Settings > Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address > Select Clear > Allow the console to restart when prompted.

Wrong. The kinect turns off for chat when a headset is detected. This is proved by the fact that it will switch to Kinect chat when the headset is removed or the controller dies.

Xbox Party Chat is broken.

I think this is happening to me. I found a fix for it. Question, do you turn your Xbox one on with voice?

Me, whenever I turn my xbox one on with voice and then turn my controller on to start or join a party, my mic/headset does not work. However when I turn the xbox on with the controller and then start or join a party, my mic/headset works.

Yes my kinetic chat is turned off..

Disconnect the battery and the chat adapter. Reconnect battery and re sync to the xbox. Check is there are any updates for the controller. If so, updated. If not, turn the controller off. Then connect the chat adaptor and then the headphones. Turn controller
on.

Also try doing this with the controller connected by USB to the XBOX.

You can also maunally mute unmute your headset in the party chat settings.

Yep.... Just another failing of the game..... My friends and I would like to turn off party chat when playing but don't because of the poor, choppy, delayed sound.
