Xbox Controller - turning on and connection crashes PC

    Hello.

I am having a very peculiar issue that I have not seen help on. I have a Xbox one X controller that I have been using to play PC games on my PC. I do not know what happened today. But now when I power on my controller via Bluetooth, it “blue screens” my computer and crashes it to do a full reboot. I have updated my drivers, computer has no updates needed, I have disconnected it, and reconnected the controller via Bluetooth. When it connects and I select it on the add device portion. I can select it and shortly after connection it crashes the PC as previously noted. I’ve been troubleshooting for appx 4 hours now. And I have problem solved it down to; when the Xbox controller turns on for a Bluetooth connection, PC Crashes. However when the batteries or removed and it is connected via usb or USB-C. I have no problems. Send help!

    :)

Xbox Controller - turning on and connection crashes PC

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your controller when connected to PC.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please update bluetooth drivers by opening Device Manager (press Windows Key + X and select "Device Manager"). Expand the "Bluetooth" section, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select "Update driver."

Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

And then reinstall bluetooth drivers. Do this in Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select "Uninstall device." Restart your PC, and Windows should automatically reinstall the Bluetooth drivers.

Next is to update Xbox controller firmware. Connect your controller via USB or USB-C. Open the Xbox Accessories app (available in the Microsoft Store) and check for firmware updates for your controller.

Then disable bluetooth low energy (BLE) because there are PCs have issues with BLE. Please check your Bluetooth adapter's settings in Device Manager and disable BLE.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Xbox One Minecraft Edition crashes when attempting to load or join online game.

Hey guys, I have a really similar issue as well. So, what I found out was that it would crash if I have two controllers connected to the Xbox One then it would crash as soon as I hit play game on my new or existing world. It would make that same noise you
guys talked about and then crash to the dashboard. What I found that seriously helped was if I signed the second player out (important step) then turned off the second player's controller, then tried it again with just one player it works. Then just turn on
the second controller while in the world and add player. Should work then! Only other problem I have is when a controller turns off from idle, or if I accidentally turned it off - when I try to turn it back on it acts as if there is no controller connected.
Can't even get to the dashboard. Well hoped that helps!

Xbox One controller turn off when I press the bluetooth button (PC and Steam Link)

Yes, I'm trying to connect my controller via Bluetooth on my Windows 10 PC (It worked before yesterday). When I connect my controller via USB Cable it works fine.

The XBox Button flashing slowly when it's turn on. When I press the sync button to connect via Bluetooth, the XBox Button flashes for 1 second and the controller turn off.

Microsoft Xbox One Controller Driver not working

If you've not already done so. Take a look over the following link for information on using your Xbox One controller with a Windows PC.

This is how I have connected my remote in the past when I used it with my computer, just by connecting the USB to the computer and into the controller. For some reason this has stopped working though and no longer turns on the remote when I plug it in
