    Xbox controller turning off after idling for a while


    So whenever I am watching a movie via Xbox, after a while the controller turns off (I guess because it operates that way to save battery). I just want to know if there is a way to stop it form turning off after idling for a while.

    Thank you for your suggestion but controller still turns off even when plugged in after it's been idle for 15 min.

    My Xbox controller generally turns off after I go idle for a few minutes but it doesnt do so when plugged in. So that is peculiar.

    Series x freezes then shutdown

    I changed it to never turn off , but I’m playing games when it freezes . I’m not just letting it idle or turn off after media. The console seems to freeze after 5-6 hours of playing , then shuts down and I have to manually turn they system again again. When the console shutdowns the controller stays on.

    Yeah I googled around before posting and my xbox doesn't have the "shut off after 6 hrs" turned on. It's dropping to the dashboard after a few hours of minecraft idling. Very odd indeed.

    My next test is to leave another game running to see if it bails. Also might try putting my guy in a corner and taping the controller so he is constantly moving ie not idle...

    I guess I could pose the question this way: Does anyone leave Minecraft on for long periods so their buddies can join while you aren't around?
