Xbox Controller Support

I bought my Xbox Series X on release day (Nov. 10, 2020). I did not register the controller on my account that day but I did register my console. I thought it was the only one necessary. Last week, the left thumbstick button stopped working. It clicks but does not register input. I have updated, troubleshooted and tested the controller. It clearly needs fixing or replacing. I searched for options in the Microsoft device replacement page and registered my controller to get it replaced. Upon registering, it says that the 1-year warranty of my controller has expired. A 1-year warranty on a device that has been on the market for less than a year. It magically expired the day I registered (Oct. 26). So far, none of the options provided can actually fix this. Microsoft doesn't "attend this issue" when attempting through their support options. I can't use the phone call or chat on this issue because they don't let you. I'm out of options. Is there anything I can do? I just want to have my controller fixed.

Okay. So why does it say “Microsoft Limited Warranty 1 years” under it when I check my controller under registered devices, which is listed separately by the way? And why doesn’t the expiration say it expired 30/90 days after the purchase?

Is it just because it’s automated and it’s essentially wrong information?

Limited warranty is stated it doesn't cover accidents or acts of god

Nm apparently they included it with console warranty for series x

After contacting support, I managed to reach a representative that could explain. You are correct and it is only 90 days, as it is stated in the warranty. They couldn't explain why it says Microsoft Limited Warranty 1 year next to it as I had not gotten the extended warranty (I think). However, they came up with a solution to my problem. Thank you for your help guys.

It's not a year though

The only controllers that come with a year warranty is the elites

NOT the included console controllers which only comes with accessories warranty which is 90days

You would have to buy ms complete within 30days of purchase of your xbox series x to be covered under extended warranty

Your console and plug is covered by a year not controllers
