Xbox controller stuck down but not drifting

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with my xbox controller where it will be constantly stuck down. What’s hard is when I search up the problem, all I see is problems where the controller drifts but my problem is different because the controller is stuck hard. Like
I can’t even move it up. When I try to move it up, it immediately moves it back down and when I hold the stick up, it will flutter up and down between the very bottom item and the item above. Anyways, let me know if you guys know how to solve this. Please

Depending on if the controller is still under warranty it may be easier to just replace it.

Could just be dirty. Try using a little bit of alcohol and a q tip to clean it maybe.

I'm curious about your issue as I too have intermittant problems with LStick on controller which only appeared recently.

Couple of questions.. If you use a different controller, does the issue disappear or is it happening with another controller?

Does the controller function normally when playing a game?

Is it happening in the XBox Dashboard menus and the virtual keyboard in Edge for example?

Are you using WiFi to connect controller to console or a plug and play charging cable?

What type of console, OG, S or X?

Drifting one direction. I can clearly see the stick get stuck when moving the analog stick. It doesnt reset to the middle. Ever. Disappointed. Fustrated. Using my old controller after the joy of receiving a new one is just a let down..
