Xbox Controller Stick Drift

This has become a major problem with me throughout my years as an xbox player, starting in 2009 and the issue still is not fixed to this day. My design labs controller bought earlier this year didn’t even survive six months of average gaming for the left
thumb stick to start tokyo drifting. I have looked up many ways of fixing this online none of them have worked. I have went through 5 controllers, 3 xbox 360 and 2 xbox controllers just to find out that this is still an issue. A controller should last arbor
least a year but not according to microsoft. Please send this post around and share your opinion on it.

Microsoft please fix the controller stick drift please!!

Both sticks on my day one controller drift badly. The left stick on my new one drifts. I'm not gonna buy another Microsoft controller. I'll buy third party or switch to playstation. Tired of the nickle and dime crap!

Xbox controller stick drift

The warranty for accessories is 90 days. If it is damaged through normal use during that period, you could take it back to the point of purchase and get a new one.

The issue is that controllers wear out. The xbox 360 ones wore out a lot faster than my xbox one, ones - typically lasting 2, 3 or 4 more months. I've only had to replace one (the 1st gen one) and another is working fine for the past ~year.

Unfortunately that causes this is weakened springs and it's advised to buy a new one if you encounter this "stick drift."

Yea, it’s unfortunate but it happens. Maybe you play more than the average person? I’ve only had it happen to one 360 and one One controller and I play for 3 to 4 hours a night.

That is strange. I've only ever had stick drift on my old 360 controllers. I don't know if the standard Xbox one controllers have it, but the Xbox Elite controller sticks can be adjusted to have dead zones to avoid drift. Check in the Xbox Accessories
app if you can adjust it for normal controllers.

Have my elite controller set up and still drifts. Can't do standard controller. Did notice they drift worse on any COD.

Unfortunately stick drift is something that happens to almost every controller with analogue sticks after some time. I feel like the fact that a lot of games require you to click in the sticks for in-game actions has resulted in stick drift becoming more
common more quickly in these last two generations of consoles. I've had to replace a few controllers on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One because of stick drift. As Dazza said, you can fix the controllers, but that requires taking them apart and doing some soldering.
Quickest and simplest solution is getting another controller, which really sucks because they're not cheap.

I have two controllers BOTH with drift issues. The one left thumb-stick drifts upwards and the other one has a right thumb-stick drift issue that drifts upward.

Like what the heck am I suppose to do. #SMH
