Xbox controller sound not working

I have two controllers for my xbox 1 s that is aproching 2 years old. Over a year ago i couldnt hear sound comming out from my headphones and it didnt solve when i unpluged it and pluged it in again so I used my second controller that i purchest with it.
That contoller has been working fine until recently when I moved my headset cable or rotated the head of the cable and sound stopped comming out so I unplugged it and plugged it in again and it started working again, this prpblem has been repeating daily and
slowly getting worse and kept getting harder to fix until finally it stopped working. So now no matter how hard I try I cannot get sound to come out. I then changed back to my old conroller that i had this problem before and I it worked again and it has not
been used in over a year. It is also not my headset either as it works fine in my laptop and phone. It seems to be a would wide problem and is there any way to fix it other than wait?
