    Xbox Controller randomly turning off


    My Xbox One Controller V2 for Windows PC just randomly turns off while playing. I generally get to play between 5-30 minutes before it turns off, then I need to turn it on again. Note that this always happen during active gameplay so it's not because of
    inactivity. I only use the controller while playing Forza Horizon 4.

    At first, it just happened while i used it wireless, and i suspected that it had something to do with the wireless adapter USB. I started using a wire just so it wouldn't happen, however, now it has started to occur while the wire is plugged in as well. The
    dot on the cable edge show a white light, which I believe means that it is fully charged.

    Stuff that I have tried (which didn't work):

    - Powering off/on the controller by holding the X button for like 10 seconds, I have done this many times.

    - Made sure the wires are properly connected.

    - Switching USB ports (even though every other USB connected equipment in my PC works flawless).

    - Re-syncing the adapter and the controller (when I used wireless)

    - Updating drivers.

    Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

    Oh and ours also randomly turns itself on as well. Turned off with the controller and was just sitting on the couch and the Xbox just turns on, no noises going on and the remote is still off. Creepy.

    It sounds to me like there could be a few things going on, it could be the battery pack is no good anymore, I would try it with some AA batteries and see if this fixes the issue. If that is not the case try upgrading the controller to see if that fixes
    the issue!
    Link on how to Upgrade Controller     lastly it could be a bad connection with the unit or batteries with the controller, you might want to look at that also.

    what the type of battery are you using? in most of cases maybe it was only a bad attach of the battery, try to check this.

    Have you tried it with regular AA batteries? Is it getting hot? Have you tried it with a USB cable? Please try those options and let us know how it goes. It may be that the controller is starting to fail.

    I had similarly issued a while back, and then I changed my battery pack, the updated my controller. Hopefully, you get this resolved soon. Happy Gaming :)
