Xbox controller only connects with one Xbox, not the original

My brother borrowed my controller and used it with his Xbox One, and now the next day my controller won't connect to my Xbox One, even though it is the one it originally came with.

Is there any way to reconnect it? I've tried syncing it, turning everything on and off, going on my brothers Xbox ... And nothing's worked!

    :)

  2. Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

    Xbox One S Controller

Does the Xbox One S controller connect to the original Xbox One? Like if I got an Xbox One S controller, would it connect and work properly on the original Xbox One? Thank you for reading.

The easiest way is to plug it in using a USB mini cable. Perform the controller update while its plugged in too.

The easiest way to sync is usb cable.

    XBOX controller, to PC

The original Xbox controller uses a USB wiring, but Microsoft put a different type of connection for the controller. The only way to use an original Xbox controller on your PC is to strip the wires and connect them to a USB wire, by simply matching the colors.
It's very simple, as it's the same USB wiring, just a different connection port.

XboxOne Controller Range Extender - How does this not exist

the controllers dont use kinect anymore, and when they did it was for pairing to the console and not the actual connection.

only the original xbox controllers had IR built in, all the newer controllers don't have that.

the only two ways to connect an xbox controller to an xbox is though the built in wireless on the console and usb cable.

Xbox One Controller forgetting bluetooth pairing after being plugged in.

the controller will always remain paired to the console without issue.
    Hi,

There is a very good reason for this. On the console, the controller doesn't use Bluetooth, it uses its own proprietary wireless connection. The original Xbox One controllers didn't have Bluetooth on release and could only be connected via a micro USB cable,
the newer controllers have the BT feature, but still work with the original Xbox One (think Xbox One Fat 2013).

It can't re-pair automatically because it has two types of wireless sync technologies built in. The only way I believe you can make the controller sync automatically would be via the Xbox One Gaming receiver for Windows 10. The receiver doesn't use Bluetooth.

    I hope that makes sense.
