    Xbox Controller Not Working Properly On Pc


    Not too sure how to explain this but I'm having an issue with my Xbox controller on pc when I'm using the left joystick which in most games would be the one that controls movement, I guess it switches to my mouse cruiser and I'm standing still and looking around instead of moving I've tried multiple games and im having the same issue any suggestions ?

    Hello xXDivineOGXx, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11?

    Updates are often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

    If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

    Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App, and tried installing the Xbox Accessories App on pc and check if your controller has any updates pending?

    Does your headset function properly on PC, some headset may work on a PC but not xbox, but if it does not work on PC either then it is your headset.

    If you can try this on another xbox, if it works there it may either be the jack on the controller or a setting on the xbox

    Hey there Goth! Just to clarify, this is the only controller you have trouble with, and it is also not working properly on the PC either? Have you had a chance to try it on another console to see what happens? If it consistently doesn't function properly
    on many consoles (where other controllers work fine) my assumption is that the controller is no longer functioning properly. I would recommend a replacement for it. Please let us know how that goes, thanks!

I suggest uninstalling the accessories app completely! Everytime that it tried to give me a hard time I do this and it works wonders! Here are the steps!

    What if you use the controller via cable on your PC, is it working normally?

    But as even with a different device the controller is not working properly, I think could be an issue with the latest firmware.

    If you're able to do it, please try downgrading it (but for this you need an Xbox console):

    Also, to isolate even more the issue, if possible. Try using a different Xbox controller on your PC and phone (connect it to phone, then to PC)
